Following a historic return to Teatro alla Scala in which she was the first Russian soprano to sing Lucia di Lammermoor at the legendary opera house, Albina Shagimuratova brings her “expressive virtuosity and intense involvement” (Il Secolo XIX) to the same work at Los Angeles Opera.

The Russian soprano stars as Lucia Ashton opposite tenor Saimir Pirgu as her lover, Edgardo di Ravenswood, in LA Opera’s first production of Donizetti’s tragedy in ten years. Stephen Powell sings Enrico and James Creswell is heard as Raimondo. Elkhanah Pulitzer directs and LA Opera Music Director James Conlon conducts. Performances run from March 15 through April 6.
